Exchange of two eyes = Two EMS?

I've had this question for some time now, unless there's already another thread/post which answers it, for which I apologize for not searching.

Taking Madara and Izuna as the easiest examples, since both of them were able to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, couldn't they just exchange their eyes with each other and they will both gain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?

Well, considering the facts presented till now in the manga, that should certainly be possible. It is interesting why it didn't happen.

Almost forgot that, thanks. Well that answers it about the Madara and his brother, Izuna, part. There would be no use for a pair of blind eyes.
But if, for example, in a pure theoretical case, Itachi and Sasuke would exchange their eyes, while both having MS, then they would both get EMS.

As a matter of fact, that issue has been talked about several times in different threads:
In Sharingan related threads, in Q/A Thread... i myself began that topic a year ago too...

There's no right answer

o i see don't you need to implant the new eyes on top of the old ones and then they combine to make ems ?
