I never start reading a Naruto chapter until i first start playing some music i find that it elevates my experience a lot. Though it can backfire if the chapter is nothing but dialogue and flashbacks.

i play darry hall and john oates when i read naruto.

it does reduce my rage to a certain degree.

I re-read Chapter 590 with Sadness and Sorrow playing in the background when it first came out. It was a lot better that way.

Yes, music does affect your mood when you are reading a manga. I love listening to music when I'm reading naruto, preferably i choose the music which suits the chapter and sometimes i predict what kind of music is going to play in the anime to make the chapter a bit more realistic. It helps you understand the character's feelings better.
