i really dont like anzu

You are definatly entitled to your own opinion, and you do bring up some good points.

But you have to admit, she is definatly one of the less annoying female characters out there, besides the whole "I will risk my own life to meet dark Yuugi" . There are some female characters in manga and anime that I just shake my head and ask, "why?". Those characters that exsist either for eye candy, and/or to provide the hero an opprotunity to show off his amazing skills and rescue the damsle. They make me sick.
I personally find that Anzu is a one of the stronger and more dynamic female characters. I love how she doesn't take any shit from any of the male characters, and proceeds to beat the stuffing out of them when they pull an innapropriate prank on her. And her pairing with Yuugi is also interesting in the fact that the author portrays her as the dominant figure in their relationship, and Yuugi as the passive one.

Let's put it this way, her character could be A LOT worse.

This has nothing to do about meliking anzu or not but just lookat chapter 1 page 12. How the hell can she be in love with him??? Her head is like twice as big!!

Don't get me wrong. I love tough kickass heroines. (Just look at my siggy lol) But strangely enough, there is just something about Anzu that just rubs, me, the, wrong, way. Not that I hate her. It's just a subtle difference from most heroines, as she is similar to a lot that I've liked, but that difference makes...well, all the difference for me.

yeah i agree- i mean in some ways she's a 1D. character whose only interest is meeting Dark yugi~ and frankly those kind of characters give me head aches.,
But Anzu can have moments where she isn't all bad and overall she is in someways important to the plot.

Maybe it's her crush on Yami Yugi, but so many heroines have crushes on the main character (like Orihime from Bleach whom I actually kinda like). But perhaps it's because Anzu seems to use little Yugi, and as fans, it's tough to accept something like that in a fictional character. =/ Friendship speeches? Yami gives them too, yet...I just don't like girls that yell a lot but expect people to treat her more importantly than others. Just the vibe I got from Anzu.

friendship speeches-well thats part of yugioh, you just have to zone out when they happen. but it gets annoying after the first hundred 'YOU CAN DO IT YUGI/YAMI!''s and 'I BELIEVE IN MY FRIENDS''s we all love our friends but sane people don't yell it out in the middle of a card game....

Actually the friendships speeches were only in the dub. bleh! But still, I'm not a fan of Anzu. To go as far as to use little Yugi...Back during the times when I used to "hate" anime characters, she was one of the only two on my list. It isn't just about the speeches. Since you read Bleach, I'll refer to it - Rukia's speech to get Ichigo back on his game was my absolute favorite speech in the history of manga, and it was a "believe in yourself" speech as well. Perhaps Anzu simply talks about friendship in a cheesy way too often. =/

And I think I like Orihime because she's humble and truly wants to try her best for everyone, even though her powers or emotional fragility may fail her sometimes.

yeah, i can survive friendship speeches, but anzu's ......i don't know. their just annoying i guess, probably cause she's the one reciting them.
she's not on my 'hate list' just my 'don't really like list' .
