    Default Wish's are NOT worth it.

    I was wondering it seems there are draw backs. Like the girl wished for her dad's church to be popular than her dad killed her mom I believe and now she is homeless.... I would say that is a drawback......

    Well as they all say in the show, wishes bring hope. This hope then causes an inbalance in the universe, so the universe creates equal despair to balance out the hope. So all wishes will have a drawback. It basically follows the lines "be careful what you wish for"

    I thought the wish was pretty much just to trick them into being MG's.

    not really...
    it was pretty much said that the girls turning into witches was not intended. however, since it gave a lot of energy to counteract entropy, the incubators just decided to roll with it.

    note that most of the girls powers/abilities are related to their wishes. it is their desire that brings forth power as kyuubey said he only releases their potential, he doesnt have magic of his own. there's then the whole balance of hope and despair in the world thrown in...

    nothing wrong with yuri, right?

    But you're misunderstanding. Like I said in my previous post, the series follows the saying "Be careful what you wish for". That is not QB's fault, but the universe's. Didn't you listen? Wishes brought hope, which causes inbalance. The despair the magical girl's get (such as Kyouko's family being killed by her father) was equal despair to the hope she brought. It was never intended to turn out like that, but due to energy they released as witches, the incubators could do nothing but go along with it.

    Silvercover covered the witch explanation well enough ^^;

    the wishes work perfectly. Kyouko got exactly what she wanted in her wish, Madoka hers, Mami's life was saved. They just have unexpected drawbacks, like everything else.
