Chapter 1: Teikou Basketball - After School (Summary in 7th post since the post will be too long if I put it all in the same post)
Chapter 2: Kaijou High Hundred Books of Youth ~Summer hasn't ended yet~
It's one week after they lost to Tohou. Kise was in the changing room after practice when Moriyama asks him about the three essential things in summer. Moriyama reveals that it's "fireworks", "Yukata" and "Test of Courage", then links it to being unable to enjoy all this unless they have cute girls. Kise is lost by now but plays along and as he leaves the locker room after Moriyama, he meets Hayakawa, who shoves antiperspirant in to his hands (citrus smell). After arguing on why he would need it, he gets sprayed with it anyway and finds out that they were going to pick up girls.
All the regulars of the basketball team were going to pick up girls together because internet research shows that success rates are higher with more guys in the group. Kasamatsu is unhappy about it. Kobori is unwilling but plays along because he heard that this activity was to help Kasamatsu relax because he was already thinking about the Winter Cup even though they lost to Tohou only one week ago. Kise plays along as well after hearing that.
Their attempts at picking up girls did not go so well.
Kobori: He directly asks a girl if she wants to drink tea with him, she laughs in his face.
Hayakawa: He asks. The problem is that he asks the same girl that Kobori asked because he specialises in rebound ^^'''
Moriyama: He praises the girl he trying to pick up, talking about they're destined to meet and various other over the top mushy things he read off from the internet, which obviously doesn't work and scared her off.
Kasamatsu passes, so it's Kise's turn.
Kise: Doesn't know how to pick up girls because it's the girls who are always trying to talk to him since he's a model. Just as he's thinking of a good strategy, he starts to realise that the girls walking past him are the same ones from before (in short, the same group of girls are walking past him repeatedly) Then he thinks of something and no matter how stupid it would look, he did it anyway, which was to point at the crowd, and say "Whoever I point to, want to go on a date with me?" he receives tons of 'yes' (some were even grabbing his finger) and ended up picking five girls from the crowd.
At the cafe, Kasamatsu is so nervous, shaking so badly that the iced tea in the cup he was holding was starting to spill out. That's because he had never spoke to girls properly before. They ask him which girl he likes, and he says the rightmost one. They comment that she has a good figure and wonder if he likes girls with big chests.
The girls returned from the washroom and they put on makeup and basically levelled up. As the girls go get their drinks, the other guys suggest different ways for Kasamatsu to start talking to them. As the girls come back, Kasamatsu tries to propose a toast. But because he was so nervous and his mind was messed up with the various suggestions of the other guys, he ends up saying "Oppai" (Breasts) instead of "Kannpai" (Cheers)
Chapter 3: Seirin Basketball club - The biggest crisis
It starts with Kiyoshi telling Hyuuga that he lost his wallet. Hyuuga doesn't really care until Kiyoshi says that his wallet contained the club funds for the semester. Just as Hyuuga is shouting to Kiyoshi to dig three feet under the school to search for the wallet, Kuroko appears, scaring Hyuuga. Kuroko then suggests asking the student council in case someone found the wallet and if not, search all the places where Kiyoshi had been to before. Hyuuga thinks that something is wrong with Kuroko because it was the first time he said such a long sentence and tries to take temperature (with his hand), Kuroko avoids and explains that he likes reading detective novels.
After asking the student council and yielding no results, the rest of the team is gathered and they search all the locations where Kiyoshi had been to. They first went to the pond (more like a neglected puddle since the gardening club closed down) and Kiyoshi reveals that he was there because he wanted to feed the fish, which is kind of fun. He then gets kicked into the water by Hyuuga in response. After that, everyone except Kagami and Kuroko gets into the pond to search just in case the wallet fell in but they couldn't find it. Kagami and Kuroko could not find the wallet in the surrounding areas either.
After that, they went to the place where the bread shop is. Kiyoshi wanted to buy the bread that the first years were asked to buy in chapter 12. Everyone gets worried because it was so crowded and anyone could have stolen the wallet. Kiyoshi later reassures them that it was impossible because he never entered the crowd. Riko had suddenly asked him to go with her to the Home Economics room to help with her cooking research. Everyone starts to panic for real and asks Kiyoshi if his body is okay. He said that he was fine, except that he lost his memory after eating and suddenly found himself in the broadcasting room.
So everyone searched the route from the Home Economics room to the broadcasting room and still no results. Kiyoshi then brings them to the backyard garden of sorts because he was cleaning that place. It's a huge area and cluttered as well. Everyone is tired but Kuroko moves towards a small forest area, another troublesome place to search. Everyone is about to give up when Kuroko motivates them with "We can't give up." and they search the area with renewed determination. However, with no sign of hte wallet after some time, Kiyoshi eventually tells them that's it's fine and they can stop. Everyone is puzzled why Kiyoshi wants to give up now but following Kiyoshi's pace, they start to think of backup plans, like pooling their money.
Just then, they hear a bark and #2 appears, with the wallet in its mouth. Everyone is relieved but when they opened the wallet, there is no money inside. Riko appears then, scolding them for not starting practice even though it's already late. Hyuuga is about to confess to the loss of the money when Riko, seeing Kiyoshi says that she'll pass him the club funds the next day. Everyone is confused, and Riko repeats. Kiyoshi then sheepishly turns to the team and says "Sorry, I was mistaken." All the team mates except Kiyoshi start to imagine the barrage of shouts and punches he will receive later in the day.
Chapter 4: Continuation from chapter 2
Kise arranges a proper meet up, this time with a female model and her friends. The rest, determined not to repeat the failure of before, forces Kise to be their coach on how to talk with girls (traning in short). However, the training did not go well because the guys simply have no experience. In response to Kise's hypothetical question on what Moriyama would do if the girl wants to go to an amusement park, he suggests going to her house instead because internet research says that going to a place nearby is best and the most logical answer is her house. Hayakawa is too worked up when talking and Kobori has no presence. Kasamatsu can't even look at the girls in his class photo. As they were discussing topics they could talk about, they can only think about basketball, but girls would not be interested in that normally. Eventually, Kise suggests that they just ask and let the girls answer, avoiding the topic of basketball since it seems dangerous.
During the meetup, it turns out that they weren't so lucky because the model asks which club they were from since she heard they are from the same club. In the end, they had no choice but to answer "Basketball" Out of politeness, the model obviously says "Wow, a sports club, that's cool!" They misinterpret her answer to mean that she was interested in basketball and it was only made worse by one of the other girls asking Moriyama, "what do you think is attractive about basketball?" As Moriyama answers that they are a lot of attractive things about basketball, the rest of the guys join in, as if liberated by this familiar subject they are passionate about. They start talking about various formations and tactics, forgetting about the girls. When they eventually remember them, the girls have already been turned off and Kise could only apologise. The girls reply that "it's fine...all of you...can just continue doing your thing." in a cold tone, destroying their passion for the summer. And so, that was how their summer ended with no luck in love.
Chapter 5: Terror! Tragedy at the Mountain Resort
Talks about the "Test of Courage" at the end of their training camp. It starts with Kagami and Kuroko walking through a door into a corridor. Kuroko calls Kagami's name, he turns around and bumps into something. However, thinking that one would not normally bump into something when turning around in a corridor, he concludes it's a ghost, then screams and faints, causing Kuroko to panic a bit.
Flashback to 30 minutes
Riko did not have enough time to prepare anything but found an abandoned mountain resort to conduct it in. The team gets split into groups. Group 1: Hyuuga and Kiyoshi, Group 2: Kagami and Kuroko, Group 3: Izuki and Mitobe, Group 4: Koganei and Tsuchida, Group 5: Furihata, Fukuda and Kawahara (the year 1s)
Hyuuga and Kiyoshi: Being the first group, they enter cautiously. Hyuuga gets scared by Kiyoshi, as he was wearing a scary mask he found on the wall. Hyuuga punches him in the stomach.
Kagami and Kuroko: Kagami is talking a lot because he's nervous. Kuroko notices and asks Kagami if he's afraid of ghosts, Kagami denies it. He finds the stairs to the second floor and gathering his courage, he tells Kuroko they are going upstairs, only to realise Kuroko is gone. He panics for a bit, calling out Kuroko's name, and as he is frantically trying to calm down, he suddenly hears the sound of a switch. But where did it come from? Just then he hears "Kagami-kun..." and Kuroko appears in the shine of the torchlight, freaking Kagami out completely, causing him to scream.
Izuki and Mitobe: Izuki wonders if that was Kagami just now as he enters the building. Mitobe looks worried and Izuki tells him to relax since screams are common during a "test of courage". Izuki then goes on to explain that Hyuuga is afraid of ghosts. Mitobe remembers how much Hyuuga was against the "test of courage" the previous year. Izuki explains further that he and Hyuuga were in the same middle school and he used to tell Hyuuga a lot of scary stories such that Hyuuga started being afraid of the supernatural. Izuki then tells Mitobe that he should tell scary stories since its a test of courage, Mitobe shakes his head furiously and remembers that Koganei loves scary stories as well and hopes he wouldn't go overboard.
Koganei and Tsuchida: Both of them are enjoying themselves a lot. They were discussing how this mansion resembled a scene in a movie or game and they clicked because they shared the same interests. So they weren't afraid at all.
Furihata, Fukuda and Kawahara: Rather than being afraid, they were worrying about the building's infrastructure and how they would be able to make it through the mansion because their bodies were aching like hell since it was the last day of the training camp.
Scene switches back to Hyuuga and Kiyoshi: Kiyoshi mentions that it's noisy downstairs, the result of Koganei's and Tsuchida's fanboying. Hyuuga deduces that it might be rats. He's about to walk off when he realises that Kiyoshi is frozen. Turns out that Kiyoshi is afraid of rats. It is then revealed that Riko's task for them is to go into one of five rooms with papers stuck on them and find an empty can of a protein drink. Hyuuga feels that something is watching them and walks some distance away and hears a strange noise. Kiyoshi catches up, hears the noise too, and was afraid that there were really rats. Just then, something appears from the shadows. It was a wheelchair, rolling... on it's own. Both guys scream and run. Luckily they found the room that Riko described, and ran into the room. They discuss the wheelchair and Kiyoshi concludes that someone actually came back to get it. Hyuuga facepalms or something.
Kagami and Kuroko: In order to prevent Kuroko from freaking him out again, he wants Kuroko to keep talking. Kuroko doesn't know what to say and Kagami says "anything" in desperation. Kuroko ends up telling a Japanese ghost story which he heard in elementary school. Kagami demands the reason and Kuroko answers with "because the occasion seemed right". Just as Kagami is complaining, they see....ghost fire. Kagami freaks out even more and drops the torchlight. Kuroko picks up the torchlight and walks towards the ghost fire and tells Kagami to follow. Kagami asks why, and Kuroko says that "ghost fires are rare and they should investigate".
Hyuuga and Kiyoshi again: In short, they find the can of the protein drink, Hyuuga opens the can, a fake rat jumps out and Kiyoshi runs away, thus leaving Hyuuga behind (obviously)
Kagami and Kuroko again: They find the room Riko wanted them to search. Kuroko decides to finish the mission, abandoning the quest for the ghost fire. Just then, they both hear a telephone ringing. Kuroko moves towards the sound, and Kagami grabs him, asking him the reason. Kuroko answers "we have to answer the telephone when it rings" Kagami yells something about being cursed if they did. Meanwhile, the telephone continues ringing.
Back to Hyuuga: He leaves the room to look for Hyuuga and finds Izuki and Mitobe. He asks if they have seen Kiyoshi and receives a negative. And then they see... the ghost fire. Then they hear something breaking and sounds of falling plaster. All of them run off screaming.
Koganei and Tsuchida: They are climbing the stairs when they hear a loud noise in the distance. They enthusiastically speculate about end of the world scenarios and meteors. They meet the 3 year ones, Furihata, Fukuda and Kawahara. They freak out to their Senpais about loud noises and screams of help, thinking that they heard earthbound ghosts. It only serves to excite Koganei and Tsuchida even more, and they are raring to investigate. The year ones are speechless at their enthusiasm.
Riko: After waiting for a long time and seeing none of the guys appearing, she goes into the building to see what was going on. She sees the pile of wood and plaster on the first floor and worried that someone is trapped under that, she yells out for someone to answer her. Koganei, Tsuchida and the three year ones appear and they tell her about the possibility of an Earthbound ghost. Just then, they hear someone calling for help from the pile. Even Koganei is a little freaked out by now. Riko seems to realise something after hearing the voice.
Some time before Riko enters the mansion:
Kagami and Kuroko: Kagami manages to drag Kuroko into their assigned room and found the empty can. As they are leaving the room, Kuroko warns Kagami of danger. Kagami turns around and bumps into something, screams and faints (basically a repeat of the first scene).
Everyone except Kagami, Kuroko and Kiyoshi have found Riko. Hyuuga starts to explain to Riko about strange things they encountered and starts with the rolling wheelchair. Then someone replies "Oh, that was me." Hyuuga is slightly alarmed by the voice and the owner is Riko's father. He was the person underneath the wood and plaster pile. Apparently, he is such a daughter-con and he finished his work early and came one day earlier than appointed to visit her. He then hears that she went to an old house for a test of courage with the guys. Obviously he's afraid that something will happen to her, goes to the mansion and steps through the floor by mistake, thus trapping himself.
About the wheelchair, he had kicked it by mistake, so it ended up rolling on its own.
Hyuuga then talk about the ghost fire he saw, which was green in colour. Kuroko suddenly appears and say that he saw it too, but he saw a red one. Riko's dad admits to being the cause of the red ghost fire. He had lost his handphone but could not see anything, so he lit a match. The green ghost fire turned out to be from the illumination of his handphone's screen. The telephone ringing came from his other handphone (personal one, the first one was for work purposes).
They then notice Kagami lying on the floor, Kuroko had dragged him all the way by his leg. Kiyoshi explains that Kagami appeared to had fainted after bumping into him. Just as they are wondering how Kagami could faint just by bumping into someone, Kiyoshi explains that he was wearing a scary mask in the hope that it would keep the rats away.
Riko asks her father the reason why he came early. He explains that he was worried that she would be scared to death by the "Test of Courage". Riko answers that she wouldn't even be afraid because she was waiting outside the whole time. Riko's dad then gets angry at all the guys for leaving Riko outside by herself. He gives them a long lecture and makes them kneel for a long time as punishment. Kagami wakes up in the middle of that and says that there's a devil (Riko's dad)
Omake: About #2
Talks about its typical day, how wary it is of Riko feeding it, general thoughts of humans, (it sounds kinda arrogant here because it's complaining about how humans don't understand dogs but it'll forgive them because it has a big heart) Ends with it thinking that Seirin Basketball Club won't lose as long as it is around.
At the end of all that, it is revealed that the whole #2 thought monologue was just made up by Izuki
