Wait a second....how is that even possible? If the year of release is correct (2010), then how are their 38 volumes? Was it a daily release or something? Naruto started in 1999 and only has 59 volumes out (been in weekly shounen since the beginning). Is it only two chapters per volume or something?

Background summary up to chapter 49.

100,000 years before the current story, the God Clan fought with Moon/Dark Clan and won, took over Mortal Realms and exiled the Moon Clan to Land of the Dead. The Moon Clan was described by God Clan as savage and evil, but they are not.

Only God Clan and Moon Clan can use Power/Magic, and they come naturally for both of them. Human have to learn to use Chi and only few can learn it. Magic comes from within, Chi comes from without (the surrounding) and even from another alternate dimension (A world wholly made of Chi, including creatures and plants.). Highest form of Chi shown so far can materialise anything, for example Sword Aura in early chapter is still low level and it does not have physical form, later on the Master Swordman can materialise God-slaying Sword (Yep, he survived).

Several decades before, the previous Oracle (Fu Xi) was betrayed by his elder daughter (the current High Priestess/Oracle who is with Tian/Heaven) and jailed for speaking out the truth/forsaw God Clan's doom. He broke out with a few other comrades and form a sort of Rebel, those who do not see Human as beneath them and seek to live in harmony with the World. They are deemed traitor to God Clan. Fu Xi is also Da Ji's father, so he's the main character's grandfather.

Tian/Heaven does not directly rule the God Clan, he's always in slumber and only wakes up now and then when the God Clan is in crisis, since the war 100,000 years ago. It is assumed by Fu Xi that current state of God Clan was because of Fu Xi's elder daughter and other Gods' tricking Tian/Heaven, that Tian/Heaven isn't exactly entirely evil.

There exists a Palace of Elder Gods, who were of the Six Great Gods status. Many lost the title to the newer generations (in battle to grant the title), however there are those who don't care about the title and simply retire to Elder Gods status (and are actually far stronger than the current Six Great Gods). The head of the Palace is Heaven Eye, an Elder God of tens of thousands years old. The Elder Gods are forbidden by Tian to run the God Clan, they only advise the Oracle and Six Great Gods, but their main priority is to watch out the Moon Clan. Heaven Eye feels betrayed by this, for he is second only to Tian in term of power but confined to the Palace watching the Moon Clan for eternity, and he has plans on his own.

The Moon Clan's Grand General plans to revolt against God Clan and Tian, and he tries to forge an alliance with both Human and the God Rebels lead by Fu Xi (after the God Rebels are nearly annihilated and Fu Xi captured).

Also some old enemies become new allies.

Shi Xing is Tian's only son. He was kind to Human and fell in love with a blind human girl, as a result his lover was killed and he was cursed into Undeath and lost his memory. After being slain by Master Swordman, he regains his Memory in the Land of the Dead, merges with the Phoenix and return to take revenge on the God Clan.

Main character is part-god and he has a unique God Power, the same one as Tian. It is unique because only Tian has that power, even Tian's own son Shi Xing has a totally different power. MC is also part-human and he learn Chi from his uncle Master Swordman.

It is more complex than the beginning chapters let out, and there are many factions with entwining plots.

More background up to chapter 72

Tian real name is Black Dragon, he is the last Ancient God Clan. Ancient God Clan are immortal, and they were the one who waged war and exiled Moon Clan from Mortal Realms 100,000 years ago, largely thanks to Tian's unrivaled power. However, Pangu the leader of Ancient God Clan was jealous and feared his powered, ordered the entire Ancient God Clan to turn on Tian, first by killing Tian's wife White Dragon. Tian wiped out the entire Ancient God Clan by himself and entombed his wife in Bloodstone Mountain hoping to use Bloodstone power to revive his wife. For this reason he enslaved Human kinds for 100,000 years to mine Bloodstone.

The current God Clan is in fact Human, created by Tian first fusing 10 young boys with remnant of Ancient God Clan soul. It is a secret known only by Tian. As such God Clan can live only 300 years naturally, unlike the Ancient God Clan that are Immortal. Ironically in the entire story the God Clan viewed human as primitive monkey and treated them no more than tool or even food.

It hasn't been explained why Shi Xing is Tian's son yet, because Tian is rarely outside of Bloodstone Mountain where his wife is entombed for the past 100,000 years, and Shi Xing is very young (less than a century old). In one of the omake Shi Xing is the result of Tian doesn't know how to use condom, jokingly.

Heaven Eye/God Eye has been around for tens of thousands years, well beyond normal God Clan lifespan. He's also extremely similar to Pangu the Ancient God Clan leader in appearance, but it hasn't been explained why yet.
