About the prequel (Mizu to Gin)

I stumbled upon a website with scanlated pages of Mizu To Gin, the prequel of Natsu no Zenjitsu. I saw the older versions of Tetsuo and Hanami there. I have yet to finish the 65 pages of the first chapter but one page suggests that Hanami dated Mori, Tetsuo's friend from his band.

Thoughts? I'm relieved that Tetsuo and Hanami are just friends... well, the next pages may suggest a development in their relationship so I can't assume pure friendship.

I also wonder how Tetsuo ended up wanting to teach art. I hope much will be revealed here in NNZ.

Hmm... I don't really know what to think of this. It's weird since Tetsuo and Hanami don't seem to know each other in Natsu no Zenijitsu. Either way I hope they don't date or I at least want Akira to make an appearance (even if it's the background).

Mizu To Gin is actually the prequel to the prequel of Natsu no Zenjitsu

Actually, it'd make more sense if Natsu no Zenjitsu was the prequel to Mizu to Gin.

Mori and Tetsuo are stated to be 6th years in Mizu to Gin. But in this manga (on the 27th page of chapter 5), it seems they are only 3rd years? And there is no mention of Hoshi (Mori's love interest in Mizu to Gin), so Hoshi and Mori haven't met each other yet. If that's true, then this manga takes place about 3 years before Mizu to Gin. And what probably happened in those 3 years goes along the lines of Tetsuo and Akira breaking up at some point (going by her lack of presence in Mizu to Gin), Hanami eventually gets to know and befriend Mori/Tetsuo/etc., Hanami and Mori date each other until that doesn't work out, and the rest of the events of Mizu to Gin happens.

It's also depressing to think about, because that goes against my Tetsuo/Akira OTP. But that is the only explanation (besides thinking this manga is actually some kind of alternate universe or something with the same characters) that logically fits.

Sorry for the confusion.

When I say "prequel", I meant MTG was made before NNZ. Apparently, the younger versions of Tetsuo and Mori are in NNZ. Therefore, the logical order of the works would have to be NNZ > MTG > Mizu no Iro, Gin no Tsuki. Given that the "supposed prequel" was made later than the "supposed sequels", the manga-ka did not have Akira in mind while writing MTG and Mizu no Iro, Gin no Tsuki.

It'll be a challenge for the manga-ka to tie the loose ends... why Akira did not appear in MTG and if Tetsuo really harbored romantic feelings for Hanami earlier on.
