Necromancer's objective?

I want to herby open a thread in which we can discuss what the necromancer's objective might be.
So far the necromancer (+ pet/advisor) was the only character that has appeared for a second time in a diffrent chapter. This makes me to belive that he is somewhat of a main charakter even though the stories of each chapter so far centere on diffrent persons ( which i think is a interesting approach). Thus I wonder why the necromancer does what he does. So far he doesn't seem to have made a lot of money out of it even though he claims it to be his "job". May he be a reasercher like Fran of "Franken Fran"? With the diffrence of him reaserching the effects of being brought back to live. Or is he evil and working for the devil? So many questions that deserve to be speculated.

As a necromancer, an Immortal being, surely he wants to analize human life, how cruel they could be, but how noble they could be too, how righteous but at the same time evil, how honest but at the same time a great lier, how humble but at the same time self-centred.
I think that he wants to teach humans lessons of life more than anything, and thats why the author wants to show us.

I agree with Thearux.

As far as the plot goes, the necromancer repeatedly says it's his job. He takes an amount of life from someone and gives that same amount to the deceased. The trade seems equal, but the necromancer himself doesn't seem to take any payment so far. Perhaps his aim is to collect as many souls as possible? He's got to be getting something other than sadistic glee, doesn't he?

An immortal necromancer... He just got bored. And as well as killing his boredom, he is achieving profit by collecting souls almost for free. (And then he will conquer the world with an undead army.)

Is he really immortal, though? I didn't notice anything that said so in the manga itself.

well yeah... we don't know how old he is, appearence cheat, and he can might as well be over 300 years old... and for what i've seen and read other places, immortality is kind of a lonely thing, and after a long time you might get bored and actually loses the will to live(but of course can't die), so he's just having some fun with might try to learn the humans who comes to him, something that either helps them move ahead in their life or just doom them to suffering the rest of their life( depending on the result of the resurection) but who the hell knows?? the manga has just started
