We know the Claymores look like dhampirs and I made a thread about the Algonquian wendigo traditions being similar to the yoma. But who knows about these Japanese vampires?

Here's a good article about it => http://www.answers.com/topic/vampires-in-japan
But vampire cats and kappas don't count as Claymores though.
It's all I could find on Japanese vampires. It seems there is no Japanese mythological creature like a vampire that is like a claymore.
The Apricity thread suggested there was, though. I guess he mus have gotten confused with Claymore lol.
I agree. And besides, claymores are not like vampires anyway.
No, but they're like dhampirs. So its like their dads are vampires!
Youma are like vampires? I wouldn't agree with that. They don't suck blood or share any other obvious traits.
I know lol. But Claymores still resemble dhampirs in their abilities and hybrid nature, they're just not half vampire as such, and traditional dhampirs weren't depigmented either.
Not only that but their lives in general are similar:
"In mythology, dhampirs often rejected their vampire blood and became extremely successful vampire hunters due to their advanced abilities. However, despite their help to the human race, they were continually rejected nonetheless because of their vampire blood. Thus, dhampirs most always spent their life as nomads, rejected by both humans and vampires--vampires due to weakness, humans due to fear of the dhampirs' strength."
Lol. I think sooner or later we'll point out all the possible things that influenced Claymore.
Well, probably never. It's been said on here before that myths and legends similar to each other can be found in almost every culture.
