Unknown chapter? What is this picture?

Hi all...
I rediscovered this manga/anime and started re-watching/re-reading the whole thing again, since I fell in love with the whole series a long time ago. But as always, I was annoyingly unsatisfied with the ending, even if there are IMPLICATIONS that Harima and Eri get together and have a child. So I did some in-depth research (meaning quick web-surfing) to find out news on the author, why exactly the series ended, interviews with the mangaka, what he was doing now, if he had touched the School Rumble series at all or even mentioned it... you know, that kind of stuff.

I DID discover some interesting stuff! Nice to see my silly nostalgic research was not all in vain, but I'll save it for later. You die-hard School Rumble fans may see something uploaded here soon.

But anyways, the thing I wanted to ask was... in the middle of my search, while I was trying to look for any possible visitations to the series after the School Rumble ending (where Harima and Eri became engaged), I came across this picture:

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont recall ever seeing this picture in the manga. I considered the possibility of it being a fanfic doujinshi, but it simply looks too genuine (so if it's fake, its a damn good one). It has scanlated quality and even the Japanese sound effect words across the left side of the figure. And the art is about as Jin Kobayashi as you get.

This has lead me to believe that theres SOME sort of school rumble-related item out there that I haven't seen or even heard of. When I saw this picture I suspected it took place after Harima agreed to be Eri's fiance, and he was escorting her to some important meeting.

ANY THOUGHTS, GUYS? I know this is years years years late, but we fans deserve to know if such a thing exists!

wow that looks like the real thing, so you're thinking that theres a continuation focusing on harima's relationship with eri somewhere out there? that would be awesome..

i was re-reading this manga and re-watching it just for old times sake and i did have the same feeling before that somehow harima's love relationship's are in need of another manga chapter. hehehhe

I looked into it some more and apparently Jin Kobayashi had the result of a popularity poll announced in School Rumble story-form. Harima and Eri were nearly tied for second and third place, so they had a special panel (shown above). I couldn't actually find where these poll results were published, but you can read a little more about it here:

Anyways, the (slightly) good news is that you might not have known the author released an 8-page oneshot of School Rumble in the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine March issue.... in 2010 that is. It's about a year old but the vast majority of manga sites seemed to pass it by. It supposedly takes place after the events of School Rumble Z, but it's nothing special (just the girl characters being silly again, no plot development). I'll see if I can upload it soon to either the School Rumble series or School Rumble Z series.

i visited the link that you posted and judging from the last extra chapters where harima and eri was reminiscing past chapters (or their sweetness to say the least) it seems that this issue was published before school rumble z

and in the last page harima said that he will be together with the girl he was destined to be with, while looking at the picture frame....and eri was in the picture with tenma!i think that was a clue that they were meant to be..right?hehehe or maybe i'm just assuming all this stuff hahahah

Thanks for the latest chapter of School Rumble, but do you know if this is a start of a whole new series continuing what happened after the school rumble z....or? I mean I love School Rumble. And to see what happens after School Rumble Z, or what happened in-between School Rumble and School Rumble Z, that would be awesome. Since the author made it kinda hard to follow with School Rumble Z. It was almost like the author was running out of ideas and just started putting random extras to just fill the last chapters of School Rumble. But if there was more chapters coming out, School Rumble might be able to redeem itself. So again, if you have any information, we school rumble fans are interested.
