Anyone else find it odd that Mizuno's first question is wrong on the last page showing the solution?
In 2hours at 60km/hr... wouldn't car go 120km?
The rest of the questions seem correct :S lol

don't know why it bugged me but if it's trying to teach readers math, it should be right imo

I think most likely it's because the answer is corresponding to Mizuno's first alteration of the question, which was to change the time driven from 2 hours to 40 minutes. So, looks like there was a mix-up between the question and the answer.

Not to mention that the way the problem is solved is also wrong (at least according to me).

If you look at how it's solved. -15/60 *X should be -1/4 *X not -1/5*X.

The rest makes sense to me but from there it's all gibberish because the next step relies on dividing by 5. Which would not be possible if my own math is correct.

No, it's right. In the (8x/10)[(8/x)-(15/60)] part, you distribute the 8x/10 to both the 8/x and the 15/60, making it (64/10)-(8x/40), which simplifies to (32/5)-(x/5). What is wrong with the solution is the part about the actual time taken. It should just be (8/x)+(15/60). That 30/60 shouldn't be in there.
