Wheren't the Nazis & Japan allies?

I always find it amuseing when manga/ anime use Nazis as villians. Because the Japanese where on the nazis side in the war. and they almost never mention their own actions.

Actually if i remember correctly Nazis and Japanese were not allies. Japanese as most of Asians (Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese) were allied with Communists (USSR). Well i live in the center of Europe and directly where WWII started - Poland - so i know few things. But i may be wrong.

Well there was time when Japs were forced to work with Nazis. But being forced to work with your enemies dosen't equal to be allied with them, right?

Japan, along with Germany and Italy, was part of the Axis Powers and controlled a major part of the world, so i assume would have helped each other out at some point

The three major Axis powers—Germany, Japan, and Italy—were part of a military alliance on the signing of the Tripartite Pact in September 1940, which officially founded the Axis powers...But even so, the higher ups in their governments had an agreement never to allow any war crimes be found out by their citizenry. The Japanese populace never knew about the Holocaust until after the war ended, and Japanese foreign minister and convinced proponent of the Tripartite Pact with the Third Reich and Fascist Italy, Yosuke Matsuoka was quoted telling a gathering of Jewish businessmen that just because he was for an alliance with Germany, he in no way supported the death or internment of people of their faith.
In any case, GERMANS for the most part despise that part of their history, as do other countries who were, if not to the extent of Italy and Japan, parts of the Axis off and on through the war, such as Slovakia, Finland, Spain, Denmark, Thailand and Iraq...many of whom were forced into the "protection" of other countries due to military force, and some through the fact that their own governments, if not citizenship (as governments and citizens seldom have much in common) were fascist bastards. Thailand and Denmark, for example were cowed by the military superiority of Japan and Germany respectively (though Thailand became a military ally, the government was overthrown by revolutionaries in 1944), and Generalissimo Franco of Spain was quite nearly Hitler Lite himself.
But in the end it comes down to one simple fact: the Nazis were real bullying pricks. And what is the best way to deal with such? If they're around, knock 'em on their asses, either literally or with words, and make sure your kids know when either is appropriate to do. And that they themselves in fighting bullies have to tread a careful line...because it is pretty easy to replace one tyrant/bully with another...often with the best intentions.

If not then it would come as no surprise if osama bin laden had already taken over the entire middle east, the reason it did not go that far is because of america. So the reason we don't have another ww on our hands is because U.S.A takes care of them LONG before they become a reason to worry about Everyone is afraid of them because of their unrestricted actions Obama will just make the country retreat just enough for a third ww to start, last time i checked 2012 is well within obama's term in charge of america so there we got our end of the world I like the health care plan tough:P But, sadly it just aint the way for america to become a half communistic country like my own Norway, where everything you could ever need is provided if you ask for it in the right way. Learn the red book and everythings served on a golden plate.

You need to go back and learn some more history. The reason Germany got so big was not due to "words," but the lack of them. Europe was too busy consenting to Hitler's whims in order to avoid WW2. "Words" and force should go hand in hand. Unfortunately Europe didn't use either till it was too late. By the way, I don't consider consent to be the same as discussion, which is what the allies failed to do with Hitler.
As for Osama Bin Laden: the reason Osama got as far as he did is because the US helped supply/train him during the Cold War.

Didn't find it in a textbook but still learned it in High School History class every single year. Still hate Columbus Day.
I think the exercepts were from "Lies My Teachers Taught Me" or a book with a similar name.

Actually, it's not the one in power, but it's all based off the victorious.

Japanese have NEVER been political allies to the 3rd Reich. They were socio-economical allies which is exactly the SAME as what we currently call The United Nations. Before people tells me that countries in the ONU are allies, it's far from it. If one of the country is in need, it only put more pressure in getting assistance from the others in exchange of futur services. (in other words, NO country in the ONU is obligated to help the others).

To be political allies, you need a center of trades and service where all countries in it share the same goal and the same ressources. (The later is where the ONU is far from it.)

About what I wrote above. What made the Nazies looking bad is simply the fact that they became a minority IN THE END. In case people think that nazies only existed in germany and around it, just to make it clear, there were 27% of the FULL POPULATION of the North America which were fully willing to change to the 3rd Reich. Surely your grand parent (or your parent) never mentionned it because most are scared of retribution from individual point of view in history, but that was it. (And yeah, there were Jew camps and extermination in North America.)
Even I can tell where some of those camp were and who was even building weapons around the cities around where I live to overtake the Allies back in the WWII.

The reason why Germany (and the 3rd Reich) became that powerfull and united in a short time like it did is because the Germany was in a REAL bad shape economically because of their lost in the WW1. When you know that nearly 60% of the population didn't have a job while about half of the 40% remaining got plenty of cash to spend as they made money at every opportunity, that's the kind of perfect country to build a military force. That was what Hitler was putting his dim on at the beginning.

To put a side-line to that, the current U.S.A. is becoming more and more in a state similar as Germany back after WWII. I wouldn't be surprise if a political conflit would rise soon enought. (While it might not be something like a war, it could be something like populating the space which would be the same as the atomic crisis during the Cold War.)
