    Default Too much cooking... ^^'

I thought the art was nice, the idea interesting and so were the characters. The idea of putting the cooking at the center of the story was quite original and I liked it during the four or five chapters. But was there any reason to make a second volume? I mean there was no progression regarding the story. The story in itself fills about 1/4 of every chapter, the rest is spent watching the main character chopping onions or carrots... It could have worked if the recipes were connected one way or another with the story, but it wasn't. It just shows that apparently, the author really likes to cook. Which is nice, but I felt like the story was dragging out more and more as it went along.
To me, it felt like she let it spoil like a cabbage which stayed too long in the fridge It's too bad, because you have a 'bored' feeling in the end, while if the story had stopped after one book, it would have left a nice impression.
    Just my opinion, though

There will be cooking in a manga about cooking this is about what cooking means to this man and his process. Why he does it and how.. Along the way we meet ppl but its pretty much about one man and him cooking food. That is why there is so much cooking in the manga..

If the cooking bothers you, you may want to consider reading something else..

I never said the cooking bothered me, only that I thought the balance between the cooking scenes and the story wasn't right. It felt more like reading a cooking book with a story in it than a story about cooking.
Of course, I can go read something else, but don't you think that only having the right to either leave a completely positive comment (and I didn't say I hated the story either) or just read something else without commenting kind of defeat the purpose of commenting in the first place?
I thought this manga wasn't bad but had evident flaws, it's my opinion. Good for you if you liked it. That's all.

I agree that the cooking thing does seem to hog a lot of the pages. However, I feel like it would be different if I was more familiar with the dishes he makes and ingredients he uses. Ordinarily I enjoy reading about food, but when it's food I've never tasted or even heard of it's less interesting.
