About memories loss, oki I understand but about the time Huh? it's weird.....

It's confusing, the manga didn't really state what's going on. Hack//Sign The world / R2 / RX = ARE THEY MERGED? or is it different version. How they keep their char alike and old in different version?

Is it really time traveling in "THE WORLD" Data or what? or the player is still playing just that in their own version of "THE WORLD". Cause since Tsukasa able to keep his char even in R2. I'm not sure if it's with the controller device which Tokio's holding or the Core allow them to move around.

Also, what about the Offline people D8(

Don't forget that "The World" is an mmorpg. This means that the different versions are likely like huge patch updates in actual mmorpgs. It's not like it's an entirely different game altogether, it's just been upgraded. So player data wouldn't be wiped from the system either. As long as the players themselves don't delete their characters, they'll remain in The World's database. It's...actually not that hard to understand.
Though I suppose it can be if you think of each of The World's versions as entirely new games rather than updates...though if you've ever played an mmo that's had a huge patch that changes a bunch of stuff (such as Maplestory's recent Big Bang patch) then it probably isn't all that confusing to you. :T

Also, tri-edge isn't Kite...oAo;;

OK... problem with you saying that is.... According to the World's game history, a huge fire overtook CC corp and a lot of the data was destroyed along with the fire, the only things left there were the seven phases and likely the azure knights... as well as aura. Other than that I believe The OS was remade entirely anew as most of the characters made completely different ones in the world R:2, the biggest example I can think of is Piros, and piros the third. And I think Yata and wiseman, endrance and elk.. and so on.

This small part about traveling through the world does bug me a lot, since it seems like the archaic records hold more than what we think if it is able to rewrite the history within the game and cause actions to have "never happened" per se.

My speculation would be that what is seeing is just fragments of the past of the game... and those people he's with are not the real players themselves but rather records of what has happened within the game of the World... something along the lines of data hidden deep within the core of the game?

Edit: My bad, the OS was not made entir.. The OS was made anew but the main code was kept intact.

Ovan is the real tri-edge(infected by AIDA)............. and azure kite and kite are different ............ kite is a player while azure kite is like a NPC that been create to protect the World law (or that what i'm tho)

Azure kite who looks like a zombie was made by aura to watch over the game in her place she remade balmung of the azure sky and orca of the azure sea to do the same job as the azure kite. And in volume 3 of hack gu u get the members adress for all three of the zombie azures. Fun fact Kite is call kite of the azure flame even though he never did the event that balmung and orca did and that in the early games they were never refered to as the dot hackers. I could go into more details on stuff but, don't feel like it.

really long spoiler if you plan to play the GU games and do not want spoilers then dun look at that spoiler. This manga has almost nothing to do with the psp game the story was just made up like alot of the other .hack series mangas. But, even in the .hack psp game made no sense to me but, that is because it is in japanese hahahaha hopeing the make it in english eventually.

I actually own the game which is the book is based off of so this is basically what is happening:

Tokio got sucked into the game because of Siaka. The World R:X Is located in 2020. All the .Hackers have been turned to stone in Mac Anu. He has the Grunty Ship that travels to different timelines in the .Hack//series to stop Schiskel. It's not that they dont remember what happened in the past anime and games. Well in the .hack//link game its the fact that Tokio travels to their timeline and is there with them as it happened but because he is there he affects the timeline somewhat not in a negative way though, just changing the way somethings happen. Schiskel is also traveling through the timeline messing up everything for the .hackers. So everytime you beat an area and go back to 2020 another .hacker turns back to normal and remembers you and teams up with Tokio.
