A quick summary of what follows:
The whole Adachi thing finally unravels in v15 when another girl, Miyagi Sakura (a punk girl that Shinagawa ends up befriending at school; I don't know the story behind this though) does a little digging herself and finds out that the person Shinagawa has been looking for is Adachi. Sakura -- who likes Shinagawa herself -- reveals this to Shinagawa in c133.
The beginning of c134 starts with a troubled Shinagawa confiding in Nerima about this latest discovery. Not too sure what goes on here, but they talk about the situation a bit and Shinagawa's somewhat reassured. Back at school, the girls in their class are trying to persuade Adachi to let her hair down and lose the glasses, but Adachi's worried that she might get recognized as a delinquent. She consults with Shinagawa on the matter in the boy's bathroom (heheh, throwback to the earlier chapters). Shinagawa tells Adachi that she will always be Adachi despite rumors and what other people think about her, and this causes him to realize the same thing: that Adachi is still the same Adachi he has come to know even after she ended up being The One. (Basically, this new information about Adachi doesn't change anything.) Adachi finally gets rid of the glasses and braids as a result. She shows up the next morning with her new look. Shinagawa can't believe his eyes and freaks out a little bit in a cute way.
In c135, the entire school is going gaga over Adachi. Shinagawa sees this, but decides to ignore it and carries on as he normally would. Shinagawa's kouhai "fanclub" -- the computer club guys, the gal guys and the new student council (Anna, Kitami and Kagawa) -- are in an uproar about it. They ask him what's going on but Shinagawa feigns ignorance and acts like it's not a big deal. In a funny moment, the gal guys speculate as to what brought on Adachi's sudden image change, and they look at Shinagawa suggestively, (implying that he might have had something to do with it) which causes Shinagawa to lose his cool (lol). Anyway, After school, Shinagawa & co go out to eat at some fast food joint, and they notice a bunch of delinquent students from Ageha sitting at a nearby table. Chiba remarks that the delinquents had been staring at them this whole time, but Shinagawa dismisses it as nothing more than them checking Adachi out because girls are so rare at Ageha. Himeji and Adachi go off somewhere for a bit, and the guys overhear the Ageha students recognizing Adachi as a delinquent. They weren't there to check her out, but to call her out. More and more of them are gathering outside of the restaurant, armed and ready for a brawl. Shinagawa, thinking about how happy Adachi is now that more people are talking to her at school, and remembering her worry that she would get spotted as a delinquent, tells Chiba to distract Adachi while he and Izumi dispose of the Ageha hoodlums. (Aw.)
This begins the arc with Adachi's younger brother. After it concludes, the focus leaves Adachi, and the romance is put on hold once again.
