Default Manga is so good at making the simplest of tasks seem epic. XD

Seriously. Tennis (Prince of Tennis), bartending (Bartender), chess (What's that one manga called?), cooking (Addicted to Curry), playing cards (Yu-Gi-Oh)... There are too many to list. Some of the stuff these mangakas come up with is hysterical. And now it's wine critics? Hmm... >__< I doubt it's as exciting as this manga makes it out to be. Unless you're drunk, in which case anything seems exciting. X3 lol...

The name of that chess/shogi Manga is Hachi-One Diver. Though I never read the manga, I watched the drama adaptation--it was pretty good. It made shogi look exciting.

And you're right, manga makes even the most simplest action look epic; but when done in real life, it's nothing special.

Don't forget about about music (La Corda d'oro). Reading those comics make me want to learn sports and try alcohol.

Or Hikaru no Go, what with the dramatic placement of a black/white stone.

or the manga where they bake bread.... hahah pan something

but seriously I've wondered this fact since death note's anime, when Light's helper was explosively writing down names in the notebook. In the anime the dude was like running across the room to slash the pen across the page..... BUT HE WAS JUST WRITING NAMES! Writing names in real life can never be that cool. Killer notebook, special thinking, quick planning or not.

I found this manga great i know its not that exciting in real life but just reading this makes me want to become a wine critic... i find interesting looking for how it was made, when it was made, and what was used to make it. Doesn't anyone else think so?

a lot of people consider manga stupid for this reason
far too excessive in the simple things

my thinking is: if a comic book (in this case manga) is exciting, it has done is purpose.

other similar manga that come up in my mind are:

    area no kishi (soccer)

mr fullswing (baseball) <---- one of the funniest and more demented manga i've ever read

saru lock (locksmith) <----damn good manga

rookies (it's far more realistic and less exagerrated than the others, but anyway it's manga like)

    bamboo blade (kendo)

frogman (swimming) <---- bad manga in my opinion, don't waste your time

    overdrive (bycicle racing)
